Welcome to Unity Communities & Leaders
Who We Are
The Five Basic Unity Principles
These ancient universal principles taught by Unity offer foundational guidance for living abundantly and staying in tune with your own divine nature.
1. There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and as my life, God the Good.
2. Our essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently good. This God essence, called the Christ, was fully expressed in Jesus.
3. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.
4. Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God. Denials and affirmations are tools we use.
5. Through thoughts, words and actions, we live the Truth we know.
Our Teachings
Unity teaches that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred value. Living from consciousness transforms our lives and the world.
Unity emphasizes the creative power of thought in our experience of life. We refer to this as the law of mental Action. When we take personal responsibility for choosing life-affirming thoughts, words and actions we live a fuller life.
Unity emphasizes the importance of applying spiritual principles to our daily lives. Unity's teachings continue to evolve as we identify, embrace and apply the spiritual insights and implications of new discoveries.
We are an association that includes Unity ministries, their leaders and congregants, our regions, our Associations of Unity Leaders and our National Schools. Together we provide practical teachings to help people live healthy, prosperous and meaningful lives.
Vision
A world powerfully transformed through the growing movement of shared spiritual awakening.
Mission
Advancing the movement of spiritual awakening and transformation through Unity, a positive path for spiritual living.
Purpose
Develop, equip, and support Unity leaders and communities to grow in innovative, sustainable, and cutting-edge ways.
Values
Supportive - Seeking to find what is needed and filling that need.
Inclusive - Creating an environment that fosters a culture of trust, respect, and belonging.
Resourceful - Finding the workable way forward with creative solutions.

"The key to success is to focus on your goals, not your obstacles"
~ Charles Fillmore, Cofounder of Unity
"The value of all service lies in the spirit in which you serve and not in the importance or magnitude of the service. Even the lowliest task or deed is made holy, joyous, and prosperous when it is filled with love."
~ Charles Fillmore, Cofounder of Unity
"If we love the Truth, we are not afraid. We are bold to put out into the sea of faith."

Ready to Sponsor a Unity Student in Africa?
Did you know we have Unity students from around the world who reach out to UWM for assistance with the cost of education? Many of these students come from impoverished areas where a laptop is out of the question, and even the cost of Unity books could mean having to skip meals.
Historically we have done what we can, but a more effective solution has come from conversations with our International Advisory Council. That solution is an invitation for an individual or ministry to directly sponsor an international student. We have partnered with Rev. Helen Wilcox-Evwaraye and Christ Light Global Ministry and the Unity National School in the United Kingdom to support these students in their Unity journey.

How to Sponsor an International Student
- Please read our student's Unity Story where you will find information about our students and the cost of the program.
- If interested, please email Claudia Maltos Young in the International Ministries Department with any additional questions.
- The sponsorship commitment is for three years which is the duration of the International Ministerial Path. Approved students understand that their sponsorship is for three years.
- Once this process begins, UWM will be there with continued support should further questions arise.
- One more way to support our students is by donating Unity books. If you are interested in donating books, please contact Rev. Helen Wilcox-Evwaraye.
Please click on each student's Story to see their sponsorship packet and learn more about their journey in Unity.
Thank you for considering sponsoring a student!

CEUs for Ministers, Spiritual Leaders, and Licensed Unity Teachers
Continuous learning and development are essential for ministry professionals in an evolving and rapidly changing world. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are our opportunity to embrace a learning mindset, deepen our skills in community and interpersonal relationships, and remain on our growing edge. Unity Worldwide Ministries supports this through CEU requirements for Unity ministers, spiritual leaders, and licensed Unity teachers (LUTs).
CEU Requirements for Ministers
Unity ministers are required to complete seven (7) hours of continuing education each year.
At least one hour each must be in the areas of:
- Inclusivity/Diversity
- Ethics/Boundaries
- Ministry Administration and Management (this requirement begins January 2026)
CEU Requirements for Licensed Unity Teachers (LUTs)
LUTs are required to complete five (5) hours of continuing education each year.
At least one hour each must be in the areas of:
- Inclusivity/Diversity
- Ethics/Boundaries
- Ministry Administration and Management (this requirement begins January 2026)
CEU Requirements for Spiritual Leaders in Special Dispensation
Some guidance on the Ministry Administration and Management requirement:
Look for courses that focus on Board Training - Minister/Board Roles and Responsibilities; Church Finances and Financial Statements; Church Administration; Managing Stress in Church Leadership; Building Volunteer Teams; Empowering Volunteers: Welcoming Newcomers Successfully; Building a Youth Program; Building a Young Adult Program; Building an Outreach Program; Expanding into Community Service; Spiritual Social Action.
If you are leading/involved with Alternative, Evolving Ministries - look for courses that focus on improving the skills that your type of ministry needs. Ideas include a class on digital record keeping, video production, directing social media content, skillsets of ministry pioneers, churches without walls, creating a satellite ministry, community organizing, engaging volunteers, diving deeply into compassionate service, non-violent communication, and more. Explore financial resources, marketing, and alternative ways to reach your spiritual audience. Be creative and think outside the box! UWM would love to know your most effective resources to share with others.

Unity Branding Program
The Unity Brand Program is the program we have developed to help our ministries and ministers "speak with one voice" for our Unity movement. Through language, logos and branding materials we can be seen as one voice around the world.
To continue to improve our Branding Program, we have just released our new updated Branding Manual with additional tools such as a broader color palette for the design of promotional materials, as well as additional resources for free photographs and images. This program is available and free to our international ministries and ministers.
To learn more about this program check out our Branding Manual or send us an email at internationalministries@unity.org

Social Media Policy. We commit to direct and compassionate communication and support Unity leaders and ministries to engage in positive public discourse.
See the Ethics page for more resources relating to ethics issues.
This manual is about breathing into the places in spiritual community in which we might feel uneasy, defensive and vulnerable. It is about making our spiritual principles and ideals come alive in our midst.
It is meant to support us in being fully present with one another, and working consciously and interdependently with one another in all aspects of community life.
It provides guidance that allows ministers, boards and ministry members to work collaboratively in serving a common purpose, tapping the collective intelligence of the community, and unleashing the potential of the ministry.
